There are several wave and obstacle classifications to rafting, from recreational rafting [class 1] to the highest level [class 6], where the rapids are so extreme and difficult they can be considered highly dangerous and “unraftable.”

The wave and obstacle classifications of life we sometimes find ourselves in can be difficult and downright frightening to maneuver through!

I am here to admit to myself and to all who are reading this that I have not handled the currents and waves of my life to the very best of my ability. Even the mildest obstacle paralyzes me mentally and emotionally. I've chosen ways [outside of God] to see me through.  This is not what he wants for me. It is neither his desire nor his design for my life. I know that!

It is not going to be easy, but I so deeply want things to change!! I want to learn to maneuver and navigate through…

Through the waves of anxiety

Through the waves of fear

Through the waves of worry

Through the waves of monotony

Through the waves of joylessness

Through the waves of the mundane

Through the waves of doubt

Through the waves of regret

Through the waves of shame

Through the waves of grief

Through the waves of loss

Through the waves of loneliness

Through the waves of lost time

Through the waves of sadness

Through the waves of overwhelmingness

Through the waves of getting older, health issues, addictions, the unknown. Through, through, through!

How do I navigate this?

How do I maneuver through?

By admitting and knowing (without a doubt) that I am not in the raft of life alone! I have the LORD [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] with me through it all. The LORD is my scout, my guide, my teacher, and my expert navigator, in whom I trust. Whom I need to listen intently to, abide in, and follow wholeheartedly. Not by my abilities, but by HIS! He is the one who gives me stability, strength, and endurance to push through. He gives me direction, the right footing, and the proper perspective– a pivotal technique for maintaining calm control through the harshest terrain.

Up to this point, I’ve not fully participated with HIM. I’ve tried to do things on my own, by my own ability, might, and power. Doing things by my own devices has gotten me absolutely nowhere, except frustrated and back to the very spot I didn’t want to be in in the first place.

In 2024, I will learn how to navigate and maneuver through…

By having the right mindset and clothing. [Ephesians 6:10-20]

By holding firmly to his truth; his word is infallible and true. [2 Timothy 3:16-17]

By not just being a hearer, but a doer. [Matthew 7: 24-27]

By continually seeking him through prayer. [1 Thessalonians 5:17]

By waiting intently for his answers. However long it may take for him to respond. [Psalm 130:5-6]

By obediently following through his promptings for my life. [Hebrews 3:7-11]

By praise and admiration for him through ALL circumstances. [1 Thessalonians 5:18] .

By undoubtedly knowing that he loves me. UNCONDITIONALLY. Even through all my weaknesses and failings! [Romans 8:31-39].

+  Jesus is the only name to remember

Also read Isaiah 43:2 to be strengthened and encouraged today.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you ~Isaiah 43:2
